NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
At The Jannali High School, SRE is delivered to Years 7 - 10 once a cycle (fortnightly).
On enrolment parents/carers will be given the SRE participation letter to complete and return.
During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending will undertake supervised alternative meaningful activities such as reading, private study or completing homework in the Library.
After the initial enrolment, you can write to the school at any time should you wish to change your child’s participation in SRE classes.
For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
The following SRE classes are offered at TJHS:
Christian SRE (Combined Churches)
These classes involve open discussion and interactive learning based on the authorised curriculum, Think Faith. The goal of these classes is to provide students with opportunities to explore the bigger questions of life and gain a basic understanding of Christian beliefs and study contemporary issues related to the Christian faith. Students will also develop the critical literacy skills required to make informed decisions about the Christian faith for themselves.
Local Christian Churches employ a teacher at the school to teach Christian (Combined Churches) SRE for student in Years 7-10 once a cycle (fortnightly).
