The Jannali High School has a strong and varied creative and performing arts program. Students can participate in a range of activities, both in and out of the classroom.

Students can unleash their creative flair through music, dance and drama performances, competitions, visual art exhibitions and enrichment programs.

Students with particular interests and talents can participate in local and statewide activities in visual arts, music, dance and drama.

The Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) Faculty are dedicated to providing opportunities for students to excel through participation in our:

Imagine: Showcase
The pinnacle of our creative and performing arts calendar, the Imagine-themed showcase celebrates the best and brightest talents in our school across the disciplines of Visual Art, Dance, Music and Drama with the support of a professional-level sound and lighting team, and top-quality catering provided by our student hospitality team. It showcases some of the highest quality presentations seen in the state and is definitely an event that needs to be seen to be believed.

MADD (Music, Art, Drama and Dance) Performance Nights
Students HSC performances and projects are showcased to the public. MADD nights are open to the public. MADD night is open to students from all Years to perform, entertain and display their creativity and talent. These two nights of performances are always of a high quality and are fiercely contested for spots in the audition process.

A cappella Vocal Ensemble and Pop Choir
The a cappella vocal ensemble showcases excellence in unaccompanied ensemble singing. Students are selected through audition and perform widely at school functions and in the local community. Conversely, the Pop Choir is an opportunity for students to get together in a less formal setting where they can enjoy singing as a group of peers accompanied by soundtracks and live bands.

TJHS Rock Band Program
Experts and beginners alike are invited to join their peers in drumming, singing and playing guitars, keyboards and a range of other instruments to replicate the hits of now or yesteryear. Lead by a professional guitarist, this program will have students wanting to “Rock and Roll All Night” (and Party Every Day).

Classroom Visual Art, Music and Drama Years 7 - 12
Our visual art, music and drama courses are very popular across all school Year groups and students in these courses have achieved exceptional HSC results. State Drama Ensemble, National Art School, professional workshops across all KLAs.

The Jannali High School’s Concert Band and Touring Band
TJHS's Concert Band is open to all ages and skills levels. It provides an excellent opportunity for students of all ages to share their love of music and performance, whilst enjoying hits of today, music from their favourite films and learning new works from the classical realm.

The Touring Band is an auditioned sub-section of the Concert Band who are given the opportunity to travel away and celebrate their skills to new audiences. Both of these bands boast a multitude of varied performance opportunities, including school formal occasions, state-wide competitions and gigs at other schools and in the community.

GAT (Gifted and Talented) Program across Visual Art, Music, Dance and Drama
Students nominate in Year 6 to audition for our prestigious GAT programs in the creative and performing arts. The successful candidates then study with senior students from Year 9 to 12 or as a separate class to further challenge their exceptional skill and strive towards their full potential.

Drama Club
Drama club runs every Tuesday afternoon and gives all participating students the opportunity to express themselves with a wide range of drama games, play-building, theatre-sports and working on established scripts like the wacky world of Monty Python. Students from this club have also been successful in earning a place in the State ‘In The Spotlight Drama Festival’ and the well-established ‘School’s Spectacular!’
