Engineering Studies

Design & Technology

Design and Technology or DT is about learning the Design Process. The process involves: learning how to be creative, developing ideas, testing, and evaluating through practical experimentation and producing quality solutions to real-world problems.

Industrial Technology Timber

Industrial Technology consists of practical project work, including a portfolio and an Industry Study. This subject includes an introduction to industrial processes and practices as well as the development of a broad range of skills and knowledge related to the timber products and furniture industries. Most of the course is based around practical projects. (You DO NOT have to have completed stage 5 Timber)

Industrial Technology Multimedia

Industrial Technology consists of project work and an Industry Study. This subject includes an introduction to industrial processes and practices as well as the development of a broad range of skills and knowledge related to the multimedia production such as sound, video, animation, web design, game design, etc. (You do not have to have done Multimedia before.)

Software Design & Development

Construction (VET)

Subject requirements

In the Year 12 courses, the major works are all different so some of the materials need to be paid for by the student.

Most of our courses are practical in nature which means that there may be many different processes going on in the classroom at one time. This is different to more formal subjects where everyone is doing the same thing at the same time. Because of this style, self-discipline and good organisation skills are necessary to complete all of the work to a good standard. This is especially important in the Year 11 and 12 courses where a long term major work needs to be completed.
