Student pathways

Careers Education at The Jannali High School consists of a range of strategies and programs that support career development through learning and development activities.

Career advice involves the provision of information, advice and guidance by the Careers Adviser in a one-on-one or small group setting.

Career development enables students to acquire the knowledge and develop the skills and capabilities for managing their future training, further education and employment pathways.

The Jannali High School has strong links with tertiary providers and industry, regularly hosting guest speakers to provide information to students. We hosted the hugely successful ‘Pathways to Success – Apprenticeships and Traineeships’ Careers Expo in 2018 on behalf of the Sutherland Shire Careers Advisers, linking students of the Shire with real-world opportunities.

Students in Years 9 – 12 are recommended to participate in work experience at a time negotiated by them and a host employer.

The Jannali High School supports EVET as an option for partnering Vocational Education and Training with the HSC. This forms part of the Year 10 into Year 11 Subject Selection process.
